Is the correct printer selected?

It may be that a different printer has been selected and the user's document has printed to another networked printer in your office. Check the printer settings from the application you are printing from to make sure that the correct printer is selected. In a Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, etc), check the printer settings by clicking File > Print. The selected printer should be visible under the Printer heading in the Name: field.

If the printer doesn't show up in the list, the correct printer driver is probably not installed.  You can access current drivers and download the website from your printer manufacturer. 

Checking Printer Connections

If a document is not printing, check the printer 1st:  Is the printer plugged in?  Is it turned on?   

 

Streaky/Faded Printouts

1. Try removing the toner cartridge from the printer and gently shaking it up and down (not back and forth).

2. Put the cartridge back in and print out a test page. If the printout is still streaky or too faint, it may be necessary to change the cartridge.
